Bungy Jumping, Garden Route Tours

Bloukrans Bungy Jumping Bridge is a Proud Guinness World Record Holder for the Highest Commercial Bungy Jump bridge in the World at 216m! The Bloukrans Bungy Jumping Bridge in South Africa is the world's highest commercial Bungy Jumping from a bridge, at a height of 216 metres. Bloukrans is the highest and largest bridge in South Africa, the third highest in the world and the largest single span arch bridge in the world. It is situated in South Africa along The Garden Route in the area of Tsitsikamma National Park. The bridge is one of a few arch-shaped bridges in this area and was considered an engineering feat during the years it was completed. Face Adrenaline is the company in charge of running the bungy jumping operations on the bridge.

Bungy Jumping from the ledge with a string tied around your ankles is the ultimate adrenaline rush. You are tied up in a body harness 216 meters above the Bloukrans River. You will be given a quick, brief, safety check and off you go! You, the ground and only a rubber string holding you. The Bloukrans Bungy Jumping bridge is a massive trademark of the Garden Route and a definite stop on all Garden Route tours, be it simply for a photo opportunity or a once in a lifetime jump!

Bungy Jumping takes place in all weather conditions, rain or shine. It is only in extreme, windy weather where jumps will be cancelled for safety purposes. Jumps start at around 8 or 9 am in the morning and last until around 5pm in the afternoon. During busy seasons it is advisable to prebook your jumps as many Garden Route tours and coaches make their stop at the bridge.

On the Bungy Jumping grounds you can find a licensed restaurant with snacks, meals, drinks and beers. For those against the idea of jumping, the restaurant provides a safe and comfortable environment from where to view the jumpers. It is also a very convenient lunch stop on certain Garden Route tours. Markets, toilets and a curio shop is also found on the premises where souvenirs and memorabilia can be bought.

For guests who would like to walk to the jumping spot, but prefer not to take the leap, the bungy jumping bridge walking tours are available. You can walk along a spectacular and specially designed catwalk to the top of the arch from where you look out over the forests and vegetation of the Garden Route to the mountains and the sea in the distance. Informative guides will introduce you to the enchantment of this special place. This is the perfect way to watch the live bungy show up close and personal and is an ideal alternative to jumping off!
