The South Africa Garden Route is a narrow coastal belt between the Indian Ocean on the one side, and mountain ranges parallel with the coast, where the distance between coast and mountains can range between 10 - 25 kilometres. Cold fronts move in over the Indian Ocean and the mountain ranges will stop these cold fronts with abundant rainfall on this narrow coastal belt. This creates a perfect rain forest situation, and from there the lush, evergreen vegitation - "The Garden Route of South Africa". Have a look at the top menu for links to the Garden Route tours we offer.

It also creates a situation where, beyond the high mountain ranges, areas which can be described as "semi - desert" areas with very low rainfall - the areas referred to as the Little Karoo, and has become world renowned as the Ostrich Capital of the World - Oudtshoorn. We will be able to offer you Big Five tours along The Garden Route in and around the popular Addo Elephant National Park - 3rd largest park in South Africa. With this option you can make a one-way trip to the city of Port Elizabeth and get a connection flight to your next destination.

The town of Oudtshoorn is blessed to have a unique mountain range known as the "Swartberg Mountain Range" - Black Mountain Range directly translated - which has extraordinary stalactite and stalacmite formations, which are known as the Famous Cango Caves. The Cango Caves are the second most visited natural attraction in South Africa, just behind Table Mountain in Cape Town. The Cango Caves provide guided tours on a daily basis and is usually included in all Garden Route tours.

As a natural extension to your Garden Route Experience, we can also offer you a Big Five Safari in a Malaria-free area. This will mean that we extend your normal Garden Route Tours to the Eastern Cape Province Game Reserves. The Garden Route, on average, is about 400 kilometres from central Cape Town.
